One of the most important steps (and my favorite) is to create a vision board – this is extremely important because like everything in life, you don’t want to blind yourself and end up in disaster.
I like to start with a vision board so I can clearly see what colors I vibrate with, what styles speak to me, etc. If you ever get stuck and can’t figure out which direction to go, make a future card. Even if you think the inspiration images you use don’t go together, eventually you’ll see that they do (99% of the time).
Everyone has their own style when it comes to creating a spectacle. I personally like to build mine on Pinterest. This is the easiest method I’ve found and they usually have all the inspiration I wanted and more.

After creating my Pinterest vision board, I copy and paste the images into a Google Doc, print them, cut them out, paste them on the board and voila, the vision board is ready. Plus, creating a vision board is very therapeutic and motivating (can you tell I love them?).
As I said earlier, there are many ways to create a vision. For you, the best strategy might be to delete photos from magazines, use Instagram, or go back to Tumblr (they have some really cool photos).
If you don’t want to go through the hassle of cropping photos, you can still make a Pinterest visual board, just don’t print it! You’ll still be able to get a pretty good idea of the style you want.
Oh my god, this tip is so important. In fact, if you have a small space, use bright colors!! I promise you can ditch your moody dark colors when you get your mansion, but bright colors will make your entire space feel 10 times bigger than it really is.

The paint isn’t expensive either!! This is something you can do in a weekend and it will transform your space. Dark colors absorb all the light from the rooms, especially if they are small. Stick to your taste, try to be as light as possible when it comes to walls and large objects (such as furniture, paintings, etc.).
Apartments are extremely small and you don’t want to create an unintentionally large room – this is a great tip for those on a budget, because I’m basically telling you not to buy more than you need. less is more. I repeat, less is more.
Too much detail can do more harm than good. Simple and minimal is much better for an apartment, and I promise you, when it’s all put together, it doesn’t look simple! You’re trying to put together a puzzle, and if each part is too complicated, you’ll be overwhelmed.
Curtains!! In fact, they get the job done. When I want to spice up my space a bit and feel more creative, I love to add curtains. Actually if you want to feel put together add curtains haha. They will make your location 10 times more expensive.

You have to be creative if you want to save, most things are wonderful but you may need them in a hurry. But I promise, at the end of the day, you’ll be so thankful you saved yourself!
