How To Make A Small Bathroom Look Bigger With Paint – Let’s face it, if you live in an apartment, you probably don’t have that dream bathroom with a jetted tub and shower. Maybe you have a small space and don’t have the opportunity to make big changes. However, there are some things you can do to optimize the space and make the bathroom appear larger than it actually is. You don’t need to be an interior designer or do a major bathroom makeover to make the most of your small space. These little bathroom ideas should do the trick.

Optimizing storage space is essential in a small bathroom. If you’re like most people, you probably have a lot of toiletries in your bathroom. When they’re lying down, it’s messy and any small bathroom feels cluttered. Invest in products that improve organization, reduce clutter and create a more open space. Consider adding shelving, extending under the sink organizers, and packing them into a linen closet. Apothecaries are a great addition because they add storage and extra glass, which helps small bathrooms feel larger.

Light plays an important role in making a space look great. If you have windows in your bathroom, use curtains that protect your privacy while letting in natural light. Adding light is a great way to enhance and liven up the room. Replace those yellow bulbs with bright LED lights and look to install additional lighting fixtures that will enhance the lighting and draw attention.

If you want to brighten up your bathroom a bit, check out wall paint. Obviously, you need to clear this with your landlord first. After getting the green light, paint the walls and ceiling the same color to create more space. The goal is to implement a soft and simple color scheme in the room, so choose a color that matches the floor.

The bathroom mirror (and mirrors in general) can play an important role in the overall feel of your space. This is due to the extra light reflected by the glass which creates a larger space. Your bathroom likely has a large mirror, but more small mirrors can also help.

A popular way to expand your space is to raise the shower rail to the top of the ceiling. A tall shower curtain generally draws the eye upwards, making the room appear more spacious. Sheer shower curtains are also recommended to keep the color theme light. If you want to go all out, ditch the curtain altogether and opt for glass shower doors. Many landlords allow this because it increases the price of the apartment, but they do nothing about the price. If you go this route, opt for clear glass over frosted glass, as the transparency adds the light and flawless look you want.

If the bathroom door closes, you can try replacing it with a sliding door. For a small bathroom, opening the door only takes up more valuable surface area. Use the gate to your advantage if you want to keep the hacked gate. Install towel racks or hooks on the door for extra storage.

When you have a private bathroom or a small bathroom, it can be difficult to create a functional space that looks good. But if done correctly, the entire room can seem brighter and more spacious. Regardless of the size of your bathroom, there are some design tricks you can use to give the illusion of space. Here are our top tips on how to make a small bathroom bigger.

Natural light can make a small bathroom seem larger. Unfortunately, we often don’t have a lot of natural light in small bathrooms, which tend to be dark, gloomy and a bit cramped.

If you have a small window or no windows in your bathroom, add an additional window or skylight to bring more natural light into the room. If that’s not an option, a glass window over the bathroom door can also do the trick, as long as there’s plenty of natural light from the adjacent hall.

Avoid using blinds that block light. Instead, you can replace your clear glass window with frosted privacy glass or cover it with a clear shade, which allows light into the room while maintaining privacy. You can add a wall lamp or a lighted bathroom mirror to enhance the light.

A large mirror opens up the space and reflects light, making your small bathroom feel larger. The more light you can reflect, the bigger your bathroom will be. Instead of having a small mirror above the vanity, consider mirroring the entire wall of your small bathroom. You can also use several smaller mirrors to achieve the same visual effect. In this example, SHED Architecture & Design chose frameless glass.

Bright patterns and colors can overwhelm a small room. Instead, choose a neutral, light color palette for your small bathroom to create clean lines from floor to ceiling. Use similar neutral colors for the floor to keep the same seamless look and feel. For example, Alexandra Fedorova white for the walls and gray for the tiles – excellent color choices for a small bathroom. You can see the project here.

Shower curtains provide privacy, but by creating a visual wall, they can have the effect of dividing the bathroom into rooms. This makes it look smaller. To expand the look of the bathroom, replace the shower curtain with a glass panel or door. With a flawless look, frameless shower doors remove all visual barriers and are a great choice for a small bathroom.

Another way to make your small bathroom look bigger is to replace the bathtub with a bathtub. As much as we all love a bath after a long day, a small bathroom doesn’t have enough space for a relaxing bathtub. Baths take up a lot of space and are not the best choice for small bathrooms. So, instead of forcing yourself to install a small bathtub, choose a freestanding bathtub with glass walls.

Another tip to make your small bathroom look bigger is to install floor-to-ceiling tiles. In this way, you will avoid any horizontal distribution lines on the walls, especially if you choose large, light-colored tiles. The ceiling will appear higher and the whole room will be more spacious.

We recommend using large tiles for your small bathroom. The bigger the tiles, the better. Choosing large tiles will expand your floor space, making the room a little narrower and your small bathroom a lot bigger.

If you can’t use the space you have and can’t fit anything under the sink, consider using open shelving. Open shelving is an easy and affordable way to save space and add style to your bathroom. We love how cute these shelves look in this small bathroom.

Tips To Make Your Bathroom Look Bigger

Shower shelves allow you to organize your bathroom and store everyday items in a convenient place. They are a great choice for bathrooms with limited space. Keep everything clean and organized and you can make the bathroom feel as big as possible. In this example, these shower shelves are suitable for all shampoos and conditioners.

If you have a small bathroom, you don’t want to be overwhelmed by a very large and bulky sink. Instead, choose a small one that fits the size of your bathroom. A pedestal or floating bathtub are good options for small bathrooms. A floating vanity gives the illusion of space and offers plenty of room to store your daily essentials.
