“My most common trick for making my eyes look bigger is to apply shadow very close to my browbone,” says makeup artist Lenny Billy. “This can give the illusion that you have more lid space and your eyes are wider, especially if your eyes are covered.”
When it comes to eyeshadow, the shade you use can have a big impact on how bright and open your eyes are. “When it comes to eyeshadow color,” says Billy, “use a light to medium shade to make your eyes look bigger.”

Billie usually avoids dark smoky eye makeup on smaller eyes, but if that’s your sweet tooth, she says, “I recommend adding a dark brown or even gray to tone down the black shadows. On the eyes, too. Use a brown pencil.” dark for the waterline instead of black to avoid making the eyes look smaller.”
