My client is a young executive who lives in a small two-bedroom condo with her husband and two children. She is living room, kitchen I used my renovation design package because I was looking to update the dining room and three bathrooms.

As you can see in the photos below, the common areas of the apartment are in dire need of modernisation.

How To Fit A Dining Table In A Small Living Room

The brown striped wallpaper they used in the living room was very old.

My client’s husband also thought at first that open shelves would be enough. But after living in their apartment for a few years, they quickly discovered that the open roofs needed regular maintenance. Otherwise, it will look like a mess.

I also have a brown sectional sofa that my client wants to replace. She was looking for a sofa that would accommodate the whole family, but still be modern enough to keep up with the trends and not be out of date.

Originally there was also a small table in the living room where children could play or read, but the table was often removed to make more hanging space.

The apartment builder’s poor waterproofing damaged the living room walls, which were covered with wall-to-wall wallpaper (bought from a retail store). I told the client that while the developer was fixing the water seepage in the walls, he needed to check the inside of the walls for mold. This will definitely be a problem for their health.

Also note that their air conditioner installer didn’t even bother to hide the ducts in the walls. The walls of the apartment were made of thick concrete and felt uninhabitable.

The apartment’s kitchen cabinets seem stuck at zero. My client wanted to clear out a large counter area and needed custom cabinet modules to house the appliances.

The floor tiles haven’t been changed in a while. No matter how many times you sweep the floor, you can’t help but get dirty with soap and water.

Tips For Decorating Small Spaces

My client wanted to replace the refrigerator with a larger unit with two doors. However, He found the corner too deep and couldn’t arrange the dishes on the top shelf.

They built this lunch counter in the interest of “saving space”. But the size is not suitable for the place. I also tend to mess around with kitchen utensils.

My client knew he needed extra storage for cooking and this served the purpose. However, for some reason, she wanted a separate dining room so she wouldn’t have to mess around with kitchen utensils on the counter. But will the kitchen counter and dining table fit in the space?

When you enter their apartment, the first thing that greets you is a cluttered but unused corner.

A small console holds food, toys It holds shoeboxes—basically. A random mix of things you would normally find in a small apartment.

Even though their beautiful wedding and family photos are displayed on the wall, this entryway wall is also a bit unimpressive. Again, An open sink only adds to the clutter.

My clients are really trendy couples, but the interior of their apartments doesn’t really reflect their style and personality. At least not their guest bathroom.

The bathroom has no cabinets and no storage space, so everything is out in the open. Tiles, like in the kitchen, are a simple decoration of the apartment and do not impress at all.

Before I show you the “after” photos; Here is a summary of the mood board and palette I have created for my clients.

Considering the lifestyle of my clients and their sense of style and fashion, I want to give them better apartment interiors. But since they have two kids, I don’t want to like them too much, so I have to worry about breaking something.

They wanted their apartment to feel like they were “living with a loved one” without feeling like they were living in a glass house. Some urban elements are needed to balance the comfort of the house.

My client also specified a white brick wall, although previously considered wallpaper options to keep the budget low. In the end I decided to go with an actual wall, even if it meant a longer scene. It’s decorating time.

The colors I choose are on the cool neutral side. The interiors of their previous apartment were hot and brown, and this time they wanted to get away from that heat.

Wooden trim I added warm tones with black and brass metallic accents. For accent colors; My client only uses teal (Boysen’s Space Encounters).

Talk about a record that tells a story right away. Instead of restoring black and white photos to that wall, I asked my clients to find family photos in color to add a little more interest. They also felt it reflected more of their family life and personality with lots of fun colors.

My client bought the frames herself and her husband installed them. Let’s just say this is a home project that will happen again soon.

Apartment Decor Ideas For Small Spaces That Wow

Keeping in mind the layout without moving the electrical and TV outlets. But I removed the brown wallpaper and put in the whitewashed brick with EZ Rocks. A brick wall adds the right texture and visual appeal to the space without overpowering the wall like dark wallpaper.

The previous single screen did not provide enough light at night, so more lighting fixtures were added. Although my client chose not to install a false ceiling to cover the wiring, This was achieved by plastering the dirty ceiling smooth and covering it with PVC wires. It’s not ideal, but in the interest of budget or if your building plan doesn’t allow for a roof. It is a reasonable alternative.

My favorite curtain maker replaces old curtains with curtains. It makes it easier for my clients to open and close the curtains during the day as the light can be dim during the day.

To fix the damaged wall and air conditioning ducts I had a contractor build a new wall to cover them. We only gave up a few inches for this one, but it was worth it.

Small Living Room Ideas You’ll Love

The media cabinet was custom made by Raw.Tura and the rug was a (affordable!) found rug from Furniture Source.

The wall cabinets were made by my trusted general contractor and are a simple open door design. I knew my client had her own items that she could use for decorating and decorating, so I went for open shelving. But don’t worry too much about displays and decorations when you’re provided with collapsible shelves.

They have black, A collection of pillows in white and gray. Although different in style, they all work well together thanks to their comprehensive palette.

My client’s father-in-law is an art curator (check out his online art gallery) and I referred him to Jay Ragma, an artist who did some modern art above the sofa.

I went with a storage unit underneath to save much needed space. The extended dining table from Furniture Republic also allows guests to choose from a more elegant set of plates when they arrive. The chairs are from West Elm and the colorful artwork is from Monar Baldemore.

I also built a ceiling bar shelf to display drinks and glasses. My clients love to cook and want to entertain, so this is a great option for them.

I wanted glass shelves to let the light from the ceiling shine onto the counter, but my client chose a plywood bench.

Note my flooring choices: I chose beautiful vinyl tile (LVT) for the living room and dining room. At the moment I really like LVTs because they are very easy to install and easy to replace if damaged. However, since they are made of a durable chemical like modern vinyl tiles, they are not easily damaged. They are waterproof; Fire resistant, light and perfect for heavy foot traffic (I set them up for many commercial projects).

Interior Design Tips For A Small Space With Big Impact

The cabinets and counters were made for me by a modular cabinet supplier. The end result was pretty good, but I wasn’t very happy with their customer service (I’ve had a lot of issues with them.) Suffice it to say that I won’t be using them again.

60×60 cm tiles were used in the kitchen with a beautiful concrete surface to complement the apartment.
