Small Kitchen Storage Ideas – I think we have a small kitchen. There’s limited storage at Seaways, but it’s huge compared to our kitchen right now! π In some ways I like it. I love that it takes less time to start cleaning and makes me a more tidy worker. I have to clean up when I go now because there is no room to clean up. The downside for a small kitchen is the lack of a seat. I love having a kitchen table. Especially as the kids grow up, they get to sit and do homework while I make dinner. It’s one of our go-tos when we finally (hopefully) buy. Another thing is that in our kitchen there can be one person at a time, two at a time, and not three chances! The biggest drawback is storage. even in the smallest kitchen You’ll still need a number of items for a functional kitchen: pots, pans, plates, bowls, utensils, and of course, food!
Working with a small kitchen allows me to be more creative and resourceful from the available space. And don’t forget that I work from the kitchen making cakes. So I have to be smart about where and how to store my equipment and ingredients. I thought it might be helpful to share my small kitchen storage ideas with anyone who has or is moving into a small kitchen.
Small Kitchen Storage Ideas
This is the most important first step in getting the most out of your space. You can’t waste space in your closet to store things you don’t use. When I’m packing in the kitchen at Seaways, I’m very careful about what to bring with us and what to dispose of. I have a single-use bread maker and go into a pile to get rid of. We also have sandwich toasters and panini beaters. So the press is on and the sandwich toaster is walking because it can also be used to make toast. But it’s not just a device you can downsize. to save space I have thrown away all my food. All that was left was one daily outfit in the kitchen. And my best set that’s on the buffet in my dining room. And if there’s one thing in this world that we all have too much in our closets. that is tour I know you can halve your glass collection!!!!
Ideas For Organizing A Small Kitchen A Cultivated Nest
Sometimes you may lack cabinets and surfaces. But you still have room to add. I use this cart from Ikea in both my current kitchen and my kitchen at Seaways. I had to lower it to fit in our current kitchen. But there are many options, including a small cart. The extra storage space and surface that the cart can provide is invaluable. This gives us room to put a microwave in the kitchen which doesn’t fit on our existing counter. We also store clothes in drawers and other items. many more on the shelf Which brings me to my next small kitchen storage idea.
Like Mrs. Hinch likes a basket! Suitable for storing small items on shelves and cabinets I have a bag in my closet. Bags in the trolley that carry snacks for children. and a bag in the fridge that holds baking utensils Freezer baskets are a great example of how baskets can add storage space in a small kitchen.
The half-boxes and boxes piled up in the closet not only look cluttered. But it also takes up more space than necessary. Ikea food storage containers are an economical way to make the most of your cupboard space. You can arrange the shelves to fit and make the most of the space.
My best example of this trick is the wine rack I use to store herbs. I don’t need a glass of wine I drink from any white or rosΓ© wine I buy. Chilled and drinkable, the wine lasts shortly after you buy it. You need a wine rack! π So I found a useless way of using the space that works for me. I have another free space between the washing machine and the counter. (My washing machine is shorter than the cabinets under the counter. (So ββthere’s a gap between the top of the washing machine and the bottom of the countertop.) But I use cling film, foil, etc. I use it sparingly there.
Kitchen Storage Tricks To Make Your Small Space Easier To Cook In
Store dishes in containers on the counter. Store food in jars on the counter. and lean against the counter against the wall All of this is not only useful. It also looks good and adds a unique touch to your kitchen. I also keep plates and bowls on the counter using DIY wooden dishes.
My Fintorp storage from Ikea is absolutely brutal! There’s no way I can put a sauce pan in the cupboard. So I can hang it on the wall which is great. Ikea has more than one type of hanging storage. And they all have different sizes of hooks, containers, etc. to hang and store a variety of things. Come with me to put pots, knives, sauce/oil bottles, plates and hang towels all on the wall! Adding shelves is also a great way to increase storage space.
